List of attractions in Canada

Short description

Three oceans wash the coasts of the second largest country in the world, in which two languages (French and English) are recognized as state languages. Thanks to a huge number of archaeological excavations, the sites of an ancient man who lived on the territory of modern Canada 26,500 years ago were found here.... The indigenous population of the country before the arrival of Europeans consisted of Indians, who miraculously managed to survive due to outbreaks of infectious and viral diseases brought in by settlers from the Old World.

Lake Peyto

Today, according to the latest census, a little more than half a million Indians live in Canada, who have preserved their culture and traditions. Naturally, they no longer differ in that proud disposition and cruelty and gladly allow guests of the country to get acquainted with their way of life and ancient monuments, many of which are sacred to them to this day.

National parks

It will not be an exaggeration to say that the most attractive attractions in Canada, which are visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists every year, are the country's National Parks.

Houses of Parliament of Canada on Parliament Hill

Thanks to the efforts of the authorities, the pristine nature untouched by human civilization has been preserved in them, and the richness of flora and fauna attracts here, like a magnet, many scientists who want to get acquainted with the life of animals and birds in their natural habitat. Canada is perhaps the only country in the world in which a developed economy and industry are naturally intertwined with the environment: as soon as you move a little away from a large industrial city, you find yourself in a place where, it seems, the foot of a European has never gone before.

Canada's most famous National Parks include Banff Park in the legendary Rocky Mountains, which was designated a protected area back in 1861. One of the largest in terms of its territory is Wood Buffalo Park, which in Russian means Forest Bison National Park. As the name implies, a traveler who finds himself in this park will be able to meet herds of huge bison here, which are under the watchful guard of the gamekeepers.

Vancouver

In Cloway National Park, you can see the wild prairies, where the Indians hunted many thousands of years ago. By the way, at the moment, in this park, you can go to the reservation of the indigenous population of Canada, who sacredly reveres their culture and traditions. Alas, it is rather difficult to list all the National Parks of the country in one article, because according to the data of 2011, there are 42 of them in Canada. Thirty-six of them belong to National Parks, and 6 are also considered reservations. The vast majority of Canada's National Parks are classified by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites... In addition, according to the government's plan, in the very near future, 6 more parks and several marine reserves will appear on the territory of one of the most beautiful countries in the world.

Major sights of Canada

Having visited this country, despite its enormous size, here, in any place, there are unique sights that will be of interest to all tourists without exception. Without a doubt, the first thing to see in Canada is the "Great Horseshoe" of the world famous Niagara Falls, located in the province of Ontario.

Quebec

This province, which has the largest proportion of the country's population, is home to the majestic capital of Canada, Ottawa. Here you can admire the unique architecture of the Parliament building. Surprisingly, a tourist can even get a special permit and attend one of the meetings where the main tasks for the development of the state are solved. By the way, in Ottawa, the visitor of the city will not be bored; it will not be possible to bypass all the interesting places even in a few days. The National Arts Center, the Museum of Caricature, the Crystal Exhibition Hall at the Royal Museum, the majestic Tower of Peace with 53 bells, the Museum of Contemporary Photography and the unique Royal Police Stable are just a few of the attractions that can be seen and, of course, photographed in Ottawa.

Toronto is the second largest city in terms of the number of attractions and, at the same time, the largest city in Canada. By the way, the name of the city from the Indian language literally translates as "meeting place." The gilded tower of one of the largest banks in the country, Royal Bank Plaza, which "dazzles" with its glare in the sun, is especially delightful.

Takakkau Falls

Speaking about the sights of Canada, it is impossible to exclude the province of Quebec, which is rightfully considered the most picturesque in the entire state.... Endless forests, pristine lakes, the oldest Canadian cities, where you can see a lot of historical and architectural monuments of this young, but at the same time, as strange as it may sound, the oldest country in the world.

Talking about the sights of Canada can be endlessly long, but how could it be otherwise if you try to talk about a country whose territory is the second largest in the world. About a country where the cultures of many peoples are closely intertwined, where you can still see a real Indian dressed in a national costume and smoking a pipe of the world, not to entertain tourists, but because the spirits of ancestors told him to live this way.
